Go North East Bus Strikes

Bus Strikes

Go North East has confirmed a series of strikes that are likely to bring many of its bus services to a halt on the following dates:

Saturday 30 September – Friday 6 October inclusive

Saturday 14 October – Friday 20 October inclusive

The depots affected are Consett, Gateshead, Hexham, Percy Main (North Shields), Sunderland and Washington.

Go North East anticipate that very few of its bus services across the North East will run at all. They are therefore advising customers to make alternative travel arrangements. 

Go North East season tickets will be accepted on Tyne and Wear Metro services where applicable. Nexus, along with Durham and Northumberland County Councils, has asked Go North East to prioritise buses to schools among the contracts we have with them. 

We are expecting children to attend school as normal, but we do understand that some learners may be late into school. If your child has any issue getting into school, please contact the school office, at either site for advice.
