Dear Parents/Carers,
I hope that you and your families continue to be safe and well, in the current Lockdown situation. After a long and challenging half term, I would firstly like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continual understanding and support during this time, it means a lot to us – Friday delivery days are our favourite day as we get to say ‘hello, how are you?’ We are encouraging all our pupils and their families to have a rest and time away from screens so that they come back fully recharged and ready for the new half term. Online live lessons resume on Monday 22nd February which is also when we are expecting the next big announcement from the government. Once we know more about the reopening plan for schools I will be in contact with the details. Ensuring that your child continues to follow lockdown laws during half term will give us all the best possible chance of opening safely when we are allowed to do so and reducing the risk of students needing to self-isolate. Covid – 19 Holiday February Holiday Guidance.
The DFE have issued guidance to make all staff, parents and carers aware of the following information.
• Where a pupil or staff member tests positive for coronavirus (COVID-19), having developed symptoms more than 48 hours since being in school, the school should not be contacted. Parents and carers should follow contact tracing instructions provided by NHS Test and Trace.
• For the first 6 days after teaching ends, if a pupil or staff member tests positive for coronavirus (COVID-19), having developed symptoms within 48 hours of being in school, the school is asked to assist in identifying close contacts and advising self-isolation, as the individual may have been infectious whilst in school.
• Please ring Dave Bromby on 07825053020 should you need to get on touch.
This will only need to take place until Wednesday 17th February 2021.
Free School Meal Vouchers
We will be providing those families who are entitled to Free School Vouchers with £15 supermarket voucher to cover the costs of FSM over the holidays. These will be emailed or posted out during the last week of term.

On behalf of myself and all the staff at The Link School we would once again like to thank you for your support in ensuring that learning has continued from home. We are so proud of the way our pupils have engaged with remote learning and we can’t wait to have them back in school with us. Fingers crossed that it won’t be long now!
Take Care and remember ‘we’re in this together’.
