Welcome Back Learners 2017

January 10, 2017

Welcome back to all staff and learners for the start of the Spring term. We have lots of activities and exciting events planned for the next term. We are looking forward to the return visit of one of Sunderland’s local MP’s, Julie Elliott, who will meet learners and congratulate Ellie Newton in year 11, for her winning entry for the Christmas card competition. Julie first visited the Link School as part of our anti-bullying week activities and was so impressed by the learners at the Link School, she asked us to design her Christmas card.

At key stage 4 we also have our first ‘Mighty Girls’ residential planned to take place at Derwent Hill. At the Link School, we want to empower our girls and young women to be smart, courageous and confident in tackling new challenges and our Mighty Girls initiative at Key Stage 4 is designed to support young women to achieve these goals. We also have exciting plans at Tudor Grove where our Key Stage 2 learners will be studying the Romans with visits planned to local areas rich in Roman history and Key Stage 3 will take part in their own adventurous residential visit closer to the Easter holidays
