Pupil Premium Statement 2020-2021

The Government provides pupil premium funding which is additional to main school funding.  Its purpose is to help address national inequalities between the achievements of children eligible for free school meals or children in care when compared with their peers.

In the 2021-2022 financial year schools will receive the following funding for each child registered as eligible for free school meals at any point in the last 6 years.

£1345 for primary aged pupils            £955 for secondary aged pupils

Sunderland Virtual School will also receive £2345 for each looked after pupil who

  • Has been looked after for one day or more
  • Was adopted from care, or left care under a special guardianship order or a residence order.

Sunderland Virtual School allocates this money to the Link School according to the numbers of looked after children on roll during the academic year.

In the 2020//2021 financial year The Link School received, £81535 in Pupil Premium Funding.

During this academic year, Children and young people across the country have experienced unprecedented disruption to their education as a result of coronavirus (COVID-19). Those from the most vulnerable and disadvantaged backgrounds will be among those hardest hit, where possible at the Link School we have tried our best endeavours to ensure that all pupil premium children have not left behind.
