  • Staff aware of physical and sensory difficulties
  • Resources available to promote handwriting development such as pencil grips, handwriting pens
  • Kinaesthetic learning activities embedded throughout the curriculum
  • Use of noise indicators in the classroom
  • Overlays for texts
  • Kinaesthetic activities to promote self-soothing
  • Physical education
  • Daily physical activity (Morning warm up session and Jump Start Jonny session)
  • personalised sensory boxes
  • Sensory room
  • Ear defenders in each classroom
  • Preparing children for weekly fire alarm checks

Additional Provision

  • Tailored 1:1 intervention involving sensory art activities
  • Sensory Regulation intervention / planned sensory breaks throughout the day.
  • Sensory cushions
  • Preferred seating within the classroom
  • Foot rests under the table
  • A varied selection of sensory equipment e.g. chewy tubes

  • Occupational Therapy involvement
  • Autism Team involvement
  • EP involvement
  • Links with Special schools
  • Ear, Nose and Throat department
  • Paediatrics
  • CCAMHs and CYPS support
  • Eye infirmary / opticians
